The waitress pouring the coffee says, "We've had to make a few adjustments. Yesterday we warmed it up with chicken soup, today it's cream of tomato." A sign in the background reads, "Coffee, 85 cents, free warm-ups."

From the AAEC Editorial Cartoon Collection. Cartoon by Etta Hulme. President Gerald Ford and Texas Senator John Tower are wearing cowboy clothes and hats. Ford's hat is pierced through with an arrow labeled "Texas primary" on the feathers. Ford also has a sheriff's star on his chest. Ford says to Tower, "Hey, Deputy! I thought you said the natives were friendly!"

Political candidate Leon Blatt and two others are listening to a man present a campaign strategy for Blatt, who is sitting in the chair in the center foreground. The open door to the room is labeled "Leon Blatt...Campaign headquarters," and there are campaign posters and a briefcase next to it. The man presenting is standing next to and pointing at a large poster with "Vote for Leon Blatt...The lesser of two evils" and Blatt's image on it. At the far end of the room is a calendar with "Sept 75" on it. The man is saying, "According to our in-depth studies of today's average voter philosophy, this campaign theme should enjoy wide appeal."
