Oral history.; Dorothy Weaver Trippe was born October 14, 1908 to Lillian Taylor and James Albert Weaver. She was educated first in the one room Watson Schoolhouse. Trippe then moved on to the Hesterville School, and she would ride her horse to school everyday. She married William Trippe, and when he was given a job as a plantation manager, they moved to the Mississippi Delta to live on a cotton plantation. In later life, Trippe completed her education at Indiana University and taught in the Ethel, Mississippi school system.
