From the AAEC Editorial Cartoon Collection. Cartoon by John Stampone. A large man labeled "Politics" is smoking a cigar and sitting on top of a desk in an office. He is holding a stack of letters in envelopes, and he is tossing them one by one into an upturned hat that is on the floor in front of him. The hat is labeled "Inefficiencies." A smaller man has entered the office through a doorway. He carries a paper that reads "Nixon's postal reforms...Merit system for postmaster job." The second man says to the first, "You're old hat."
