A printed copy of a petition to the House of Representatives of the 24th Congress on 1 February 1837. The petition contains 91 names of Mississippi residents who were requesting that Congress set up a tribunal to scrutinize land claims in the area of the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek, and that the privileges of the pre-emption law be extended.

Letter from M. Blake to William Pinckney Montgomery regarding the sale of Blake's extensive land holdings near the present town of Greenville, Mississippi. John T. McMasson of Natchez is authorized as Blake's attorney; an enclosed letter to McMasson states the location of the lands.
