The document records the names of individuals who were asked to consider representing Lowndes County at the State Convention and reports the proceedings of a meeting of citizens of District 1 held in Caledonia, Mississippi. The majority of people at the meeting were against secession with one dissenter (Ruffin Webb) who favored secession.
