Caption on the back reads: “2-Story ‘Blue Goose’ Floating Saloon on the Pearl River in Foreground: Pirogue used to tow saloon to other side of river when law enforcement officers approached.” Used in the book Next Door with Heaven with the caption, “The Freeman and Blue Goose Saloons on the East Pearl River at old Gainesville, Mississippi in 1907. In the center is the Freeman Saloon and down river is the Blue Goose Saloon.”
