A hand saw, bucket of nails, and cut wood pieces are on the ground beside him. Also in the yard are three doghouses labeled "LBJ, Ike, Harry Truman." The one labeled "Ike" appears older than "LBJ," and "Harry Truman" appears much older. The cartoon caption reads, "Here we go again."

He looks up over his shoulder as a flare lights up the night sky. The track of the flare is labeled "News reports," and the light caused by the flare is labeled "Information of intelligence value to the enemy." In the lower frame, the same area is dark, and the unseen soldier says, "This coverage is better."

A husband and wife are in their home, he sitting in a chair reading a newspaper and she standing nearby holding a travel brochure. She is dreaming about traveling to Europe for a summer vacation. The headline on the newspaper is "Tax proposal on travel outside Western Hemisphere exceeding seven dollars per day," and he says to her, "Ya better settle for Nantasket Beach!"

Leonid Brezhnev, labeled "Soviet occupation," has wrestled a much smaller man, labeled "Czechoslovakia," to the floor and has tied him up with rope. Czechoslovakia is fighting and kicking, but Brezhnev has him pinned down. Brezhnev looks over his shoulder at Walter Ulbricht, labeled "East Germany," who is looking into the room from the hallway. Brezhnev says, "Looks like I've got him tied up, finally! Now I'm going to make an ally out of him again!"
