Around the dog's neck hangs a huge barrel labeled, "Economic stimulus...$25 billion tax cut." The cartoon caption reads, "Go get 'em, champ!"

Behind the mansion is a man dressed as a chef labeled "Politics" cooking at an outdoor grill on a patio. Strands of smoke from the grill are labeled, "Guste...Mouton...Hardy...Lambert...Bubba Henry...Gillis Long...Fitzmorris...Treen...Governor's race." The smoke labeled "Governor's race" reaches around to the front of the house where Edwards stands. He says, "Hmmm...and I'm still very much here." The cartoon caption reads, "Cooking up a storm."

He stands at the table where a man labeled, "Congressional Hawks" is seated for dinner. A huge salt shaker is on the table along with dinner service. The man is saying, "You know damn well I'm on a salt-free diet!"

Zbigniew Brzezinski and Cyrus Vance, dressed as chefs, turn to see a man dressed as a waiter, labeled "Strauss," carrying a soup tureen labeled "U.S. Middle East resolution" back to the kitchen. Through the open doors to the dining room, Menachem Begin and Anwar Sadat can be seen seated at a table. President Jimmy Carter, labeled "Manager," looks on with concern. Strauss says, "They sent it back...I wonder who's in charge here?" [Note: artist's date 1979?]

Oral history.; Interview conducted on July 19, 1978 with Mr. W.S. Griffin at his home in Jackson, Mississippi. Griffin was born on October 15, 1913 near Mantee, Mississippi, in Webster County. In 1936, he accepted a position as a teacher and coach at Woodland High School in Chickasaw County. While teaching at Woodland, Griffin continued his education at the University of Mississippi and in 1940 his received his BA degree. After returning from service in World War II, he began his master's degree program at the University of Mississippi. In 1949, Griffin became superintendent of the Springhill Consolidated School District. He then went on to join the Mississippi State Department of Education as director of the state's school lunch program in 1952. In 1958, he became director of the Division of Administration and Finance at the state department of education, and in 1974 he was appointed Assistant State Superintendent of Education.
