Letter from the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party (MFDP) to friends, dated December 5, 1964. The cover letter explains the MFDP's challenge to the recent seating of Mississippi Congressmen. The MFDP contends that the congressmen were unfairly elected because of discrimination in voting procedures. Also included are sample letters and telegrams that should be written in order to solicit support for the MFDP and the congressional challenge. (Note: A letter from Fannie Lou Hamer that accompanies this document is available in the manuscript collection.)
