The doctor, carrying a handbag labeled with "M.D." talks to a man in colonial clothing [the cartoonist's character that represents New Orleans]. The doctor says, "It's a new strain."

From the AAEC Editorial Cartoon Collection. Cartoon by Eldon Pletcher. A sham prison guard is propped up in sitting position on a box in front of a prison cell door. The sham guard has a broom for a head and spine, has wooden limbs, and is dressed in clothing. A large name tag is pinned onto the shirt and it reads, "Sorry, the 30 additional guards are denied...Money problems you know...City administration." Words next to the sham guard are, "Overcrowded parish prison." Words between the bars of the cell door are "Assault cases...Security problems." An unseen prisoner in the cell shouts, "Oh, guard! Guard!"

The rocket is also marked with the atomic symbol. Part of the rocket body is painted to look like a chess board, and the chess pieces are small rockets. Below all are the words, "Helsinki, Finland." Richard Nixon is nervous and uncertain as he rides in the back seat of a car driven by Supreme Court Chief Justice Warren Burger, who is holding a sign that reads, "Immediage desegregation." The car has exited from the road which has a sign post pointing toward, "All deliberate speed" and is now on the narrow road at the ledge of a steep mountain. This road has a sign post labeled, "Integrate now!" and a sign on the mountain reads, "Danger." The cartoon caption reads, "Quick turnoff."
