From the David Neal Tigert Letters. Two letters enclosed together from Private David Neal Tigert at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, to his mother and father Floy Tigert and William D. Tigert in Laurel, Mississippi. In both letters, Private Tigert discusses his life in camp and asks about family members' lives. He particularly mentions an upcoming inspection by the Fourth Army commander and an upcoming trip to Camp Hood (today Fort Hood), Texas. The first letter contains a hand drawn map of Tigert's camp.
