1975-1996

Photograph of the May 19, 1970, Student printz with the headline: "Bond cancellation spurs demonstration" and an article about the cancellation by Julian Bond of an address he was to make on campus on Sunday, May 17. Bond cancelled his appearance in the wake of the deaths of students at Jackson State University and in Augusta, Georgia. Students demonstrated at Dr. William McCain's home and at the Administration Building. Photograph also found in Chester M. Morgan's book, Dearly bought, deeply treasured on page 134.
