Letter from George Bomford of the United States Army Ordnance Department to Mississippi Congressman William Haile of Wilkinson County on the question of arms for each state's militia. Bomford explains how arms for each state's militia are apportioned and informs Haile that arms for Mississippi are ready for delivery when required by the Governor of the state.
