Description: Oral history.; Transcript of three interviews conducted on October 23, 29, and 30, 1996 with Hollis Watkins (born 1941), the twelfth child of sharecroppers. Mr. Watkins was jailed for participating in the Woolsworth's lunch counter sit-in in McComb and a walk-out at the McComb high school. He also worked with Vernon Dahmer for voter registration and later started the Holmes County Project. He was president of Southern Echo at the time of the interview.
