Description: Oral history.; Interview conducted April 22, 2002 in Claiborne County, Mississippi. Jack Liggans was born July 15, 1921 in Claiborne County to George Liggans, Sr. and Bessie Butler. He was educated at Watson Chapel School and Claiborne County Training School. He was never married. Liggans has held a wide variety of jobs such as driver for a funeral parlor, office boy for Dr. Segrest, garage courtesy driver for Packard Motors in Kansas City, Missouri, and janitor for Railway Express. Liggans was involved with Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church, and he enjoys traveling.
