Oral History.; Alvin Fielder was born in 1900 in Newton County, Mississippi. He worked for Standard Drug Company in Meridian during the 1930s and passed the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy in 1933. He opened his own pharmacy in Meridian in 1934, which he operated until 1984. During the civil rights movement, Andrew Goodman and James Chaney boarded with him.
