From the AAEC Editorial Cartoon Collection. Cartoon by Eldon Pletcher. Louisiana attorney general Jack P.F. Gremillion, dressed in swim trunks, is walking down steps into deep water. The steps are labeled (from highest to lowest), "Relationships with LL&T...$10,000 legal fee...$55,000 loan...$95,000 loan." Fish swim nearby. The cartoon caption reads, "In the swim of things."

From the AAEC Editorial Cartoon Collection. Cartoon by Ed Valtman. Lyndon Johnson and Nguyen Van Thieu are each on a tree branch which almost, but do not quite, meet in the middle of the cartoon. Johnson has climbed far out on his branch, and is reaching across the gap, extending his hand. Nguyen Van Thieu, with a hammer and sickle on his lapel, is sitting far back on his branch, and is making little effort to meet Johnson half way. The cartoon is reminiscent of Michelangelo's ca. 1511 Sistine Chapel ceiling fresco, "The Creation of Adam." The cartoon caption reads, "Out on the limb."
