Victoria Gray Adams was a prominent civil rights activist from Palmer's Crossing, Mississippi. She became known for her work in Hattiesburg and in constructing the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party. Raised on a farm in the self-contained African American community of Palmer's Crossing, she strove to be self-sufficient. Through her work with the Citizenship Education Program, Gray Adams began to work with the Civil Rights Movement proper and was a pillar of the African American community in and around Hattiesburg.
